CVR TSD Rally – Time Speed Distance

The objective of the TSD rally is to go with the average speed between each instruction.

Your group will comprise a driver and a navigator. A set of route instructions are given that includes distance and the average speed you should go at. The course will chiefly be on picturesque back roads. Traffic stops, and other typical street issues can make you fall behind.

Checkpoint:

The objective is to show up at a designated spot on time. A few checkpoints will be stamped and some are not. Your appearance time at the checkpoint is recorded. You will be told when you can leave it to forge ahead till you find the following one. These checkpoints are just open for a particular timeframe. When that time is terminated then you get a maximum penalty in the event.

Significant: You can't make up time from past checkpoints. You are beginning from a checkpoint when you leave that. Any penalty you got can't be corrected. Making up for lost time for being late on a past leg implies you'll only be right on time for the following one. In NOVICE class you are coordinated to your closest second.

Workers at checkpoint know the time to arrive (+time of the last vehicle leaving) and regularly will remain open 10 minutes after the last time+car (which addresses one moment). For instance, if your vehicle is #6, you leave about 6 minutes after the first vehicle. The worker will record your time + 6 minutes to address it to your official time. If there are 20 vehicles in the event, the checkpoint is open 20min+10min after the first vehicle out time.

Classes:

TSD rallies, by and large, have several classes for example a NOVICE class, an INTERMEDIATE class and an EQUIPPED class. The NOVICE class will keep things simpler for the team. You don’t have to worry about calculations, just unwind,  and make your honest effort to keep on track.

How Do I start TSD Rallying?

• Staying on course is the most important part of being safe. You should never be on dirt as all rallies are on paved roads.
• You don’t have to worry about calculations on the first few rallies but do the odometers check. Avoid driving beyond your ability.
• You will notice improved driving and bring on time more often after a few rallies. 
• Adding 10% to the requested speed helps you catch up when there is any unexpected delay or you have to slow down for turns.
• Always listen to your navigator
• Believe yourself, don’t follow the other teams, they may be lost. Have Fun!
