The all-new Kylaq from Škoda promises to be a welcoming addition to the subcompact SUV segment. With a blend of European design, advanced features, and an Indian character, it is perfectly named Kylaq, a word from Sanskrit that denotes "crystal". It is inspired by the majestic Mount Kailash as Škoda stands firm in its commitment to getting inspiration from culture and cutting-edge automotive design. Positioned rather aggressively against Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger, at ₹7,89,000, this sub-4 meter SUV makes a leader's claim.
Striking Design and Thoughtful Interiors
Škoda's 'modern solid' design language gives the Kylaq a robust yet stylish look. Its bold front grille, projector headlamps having a unique 'four-eyes' design, LED DRLs, and 17-inch wheel make a powerful statement on the city roads. The rear design has T-shaped LED taillights and crystal-like elements that give a contemporary feel.
Inside, the Kylaq boasts a class-leading 446-liter boot that expands to 1,256 liters when the rear seats are folded with perfection, making it perfect for young families or road trips. Premium features such as six-way electronically adjustable ventilated front seats and a parcel tray elevate its comfort level. Apart from that, this car, due to its sleek design, would not make much room for the back passengers, especially if they are tall because its middle seat leg and headroom will be limited.
High-Tech, High-Safety for Urban Commuters
Kylaq has a 25.6-cm touchscreen infotainment system, complete with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, to allow connectivity from anywhere on the road. For the driver, all information is found in a 20.3-cm virtual cockpit display. Practicality also peaks through some likes of Škoda's Auto Climatronic system, cruise control, wireless charging, and easily customizable storage options.
Besides that, safety is a strong point, with more than 25 features including six airbags, ABS with EBD, stability control, traction control, and ISOFIX child seat anchors. Multi-collision braking and Motor Slip Regulation are also some of the advanced safety measures offered by the Kylaq, making it one of the safest in its class.

Conclusion
Attention from young families and urban Indian drivers could be caught by the Škoda Kylaq through a combination of innovative styling, highly advanced technology, and commitment to safety. The compact rear-seat area may not fit the quotient for everybody; however, performance, European-inspired design, and competitive pricing would be out there and grab. Bookings for the Kylaq will open from 2 December and with deliveries expected in January 2025, Škoda intends to make a strong impact on the Indian market with this feature-rich compact SUV.
