BMW India has finally launched the much-awaited M4 CS in the country with an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.89 crore. This new model is positioned above the M4 Competition and boasts of upgrades on performance that promise to be much more than just an icing on the cake for sports car enthusiasts. Here is what makes the BMW M4 CS pretty appealing.
Powertrain and performance enhancement
The spine of the M4 CS consists of a familiar 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight-six engine, but power increased across the board to 550hp from M4 Competition's 530hp via higher-pressure boost. The peak torque of 650Nm hasn't changed but now arrives between 2,750 and 5,950rpm, to enhance the daily use performance.
BMW also updated the powertrain to ensure that the car would be as reliable as possible in track sessions: a better cooling system, increased oil supply to the clutch, stiffer engine mounts, and so on. All of these tiny differences result in a quicker throttle response. Weighing 20kg less than its predecessor, the titanium exhaust and various carbon fiber components allow the M4 CS to sprint from 0-100kph in a mere 3.4 seconds-one tenth of a second faster than the M4 Competition. The top speed is electronically capped at 302kph for the possibility of real driving fun on both road and track.
Unique exterior and interior design
The M4 CS does have some great, unique design elements. It carries yellow-tinted daytime running lights and a red-outlined kidney grille, in addition to those flashy bronze wheels. Inside the M4 CS is more of that same sporty ambience but with the M Carbon bucket seats and a flat-bottom Alcantara steering wheel.
The interior boasts the latest in BMW technology, including a 14.9-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and an impelled BMW Operating System 8.5. This sporty performance experience is augmented by BMW's M-specific graphics on the head-up display as well as a dedicated M Mode button on the center console.
Competition and positioning
At Rs 36 lakh above the price of the M4 Competition, the M4 CS enters a very competitive market space, where the Audi RS5 and even the new Mercedes C 63 S e-Performance would stand as rivals. So, the M4 CS is not just a luxurious sports car but an adversary in the upper rungs of the high-performance segments.

It ensures elegance in design, high-performance, lighter body weight, and promises unmatched comfort and performance. It is going to attract driving enthusiasts from all walks of life looking for an exciting ride. BMW continues to innovate as the M4 CS goes ahead in shooting up the standards for sports cars in India.
