Unveiled! Harley-Davidson X500

The X 500, the second product in the Harley-Davidson and QJMotor cooperation, has debuted. The X 350, the smaller of the two models, made its debut last month.

Harley Davidson X500: Design and Features

The X 500's silhouette is similar to that of the Benelli Leoncino 500, but the Harley has its own distinct identity. The taillight integrated into the rear indicators, as well as the 'chopped' shape of the rear fender, are classic Harley touches. With its clean, simple lines and neo-retro design language, this is a very appealing gadget to look at.

The Harley-Davidson X 500 is a simple vehicle with no riding aids other than dual-channel ABS, but it does have all-LED lighting. The instrumentation is handled by a basic digi-analogue cluster, similar to the X 350.

The Harley-Davidson X 500 is now only available in China, and while it may be available in other international markets in the future, we in India will receive the motorcycle developed in collaboration between Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp.

Harley Davidson X500: Engine and other parts

The HD X 500 is powered by a 500cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine producing 47.5hp and 46Nm and coupled to a 6-speed transmission. This, along with the smaller X 350, are the only two bikes in the renowned American motorcycle manufacturer's lineup that lack a V-twin engine.The dimensions are similar to those of Benelli Leoncino 500. The X 500's primary frame and swingarm appear to be very similar to those seen on the Leoncino.

The suspension of the X 500 is taken care of by a 50mm USD fork and a monoshock, both of which are preload and rebound adjustable. The remote preload adjuster for the rear monoshock is a really useful feature here. The X 500 weighs 208 kg with the 13-litre petrol tank completely charged, making it significantly heavier than anything in a higher class, such as the Kawasaki Z650RS.
