Jehan Daruvala Secured his Sixth Podium: Finishes Second in Formula 2 French Grand Prix Sprint Race

Indian driver Jehan Daruvala completed second in Formula 2 French Grand Prix, getting his 6th podium of the season. Jehan began the ‘feature race’ from 10th on the grid, however, battled his direction up to the seventh spot before completing second by and large. This season, it was his fifth second-place.

Jehan, who races for Italian team Prema, was denied of potential 4th F2 triumph by a penalty in the last round in Austria.

The 23-year-old Jehan said, “It’s great to be back on the podium what occurred in Silverstone and Austria. We were battling with pace down the straights however had a decent fight to complete second. We would have completed considerably higher in the feature race with our methodology to run a long first stint yet we bet on a safety car and remained out somewhat longer than ideal. Other than that, it was a strong end of the week for us. We have a few areas to work on and I'm sure we'll return stronger one weekend from now in Hungary,'' 

Jehan began Saturday's 'sprint race' from the pole position and, after the start of lightning, drive into the first corner. He clutched onto his own at the front when an occurrence including three vehicles drew out the safety car.

The 23-year-old Mumbai-based driver coordinated the restart flawlessly, which permitted him to open up a little hole with second-placed Liam Lawson, yet the latter's better straight-line speed permitted him to close in.

Lawson utilized his vehicle's superior speed down the straights then move beyond Jehan and the former cleared around the outside into turn one.

Jehan held his line however the pair contacted, which caused a tear on his front tire, yet he didn't experience a cut. A couple of laps later, Marcus Armstrong endeavoured to pass Jehan for second at a similar corner however on the inside.

They connected however Jehan constrained wide across the chicane and kept his position. 

Armstrong was given a five-second penalty for driving Jehan out off the track.

The Red Bull-upheld racer, who recently finished a second Formula-1 test with McLaren, will currently go to Hungary.
